Saturday, November 3: Micah 3- Leaders lead.

Some may be good and some may be great but all leaders lead. And even leaders given to inaction lead because their inaction is in fact leading. Because leaders are at the helm, they steer the ship. If you are in a position of leadership, family, work, church, community, organization, you are leading.

Micah speaks to the leaders. They are leading BADLY. I tend to think Micah’s opening salvo is hyperbole, yet the message is clear. Israel’s leaders are corrupt. And because of them, Zion will be plowed like a field, Jerusalem will become a heap of rubble, the temple hill a mound overgrown with thickets (12).

What I see in this is so obvious… where we lead matters. These leaders were leading to the wrong destination. They were leading the people of God away from God!

And here is God’s thought for me for today. Am I leading people toward God and deeper faith in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit or away from God?
