Despite a legacy of faith, Jehoram choose to follow in the footsteps of his father-in-law, Ahab, rather than his father Jehoshaphat. How that happens and why that happens, I have no idea and neither does the text give us any hints. We become who we listen to. Jehoram listened to the wrong people, their influence led him down the wrong path and he lived a despicable life as a result.

Lord Jesus, send the Holy Spirit to be my advisor and my influencer. Help me to attune my ear to the Spirit’s voice and words. I pray this, Jesus, in Your name. Amen.
