Saturday, April 27: Matthew 11– …

In verses 20-24, Jesus laments the lack of acceptance and faith He found in the various cities in which He preached. The people, He said, refused to repent, therefore the day of judgment would not be kind to them.
This vignette got me thinking about repentance. Repentance opens the door to salvation and the blessing of God. Given its blessings and benefits, why is it so hard for we humans to repent? Why do we fight it and resist it with all our might? Why?
I wish I had answers to these questions. I wish I knew why I, who have repented in the past and know its benefits, still resist repentance when it is needed in my life?
Where are you with respect to repentance and God? Think about it… because repentance opens the door to many spiritual blessings.

Lord, thank You that You worked in my life in such a way that I accepted your invitation to repent. I am so blessed as a result. And for this I, too, thank You. Amen.
