Saturday, April 13: Exodus 39– Blessing of a job well done…

My eyes attached to the final two verses of the chapter, which were also the final word regarding the building of the tabernacle and all its furnishings. The text reads: The Israelites had done all the work just as the LORD had commanded Moses. Moses inspected the work and saw that they had done it just as the LORD had commanded. So Moses blessed them (42-43).
The Israelites did all the work just as the LORD had commanded Moses. Four words in particular caught my attention, just as the LORD. And for this Moses blessed them.
I found myself pondering all of this, pondering obedience to the Lord and the blessing it brings. Jesus’ words to the faithful servant launched in my mind: well done good and faithful servant, come and enter my father’s blessedness… (Matthew 25:23).
Like the blessing Moses gave, this one Jesus talks about grows out of faithfulness…
Hmmm… how am I doing in regard to faithfulness?
Lord, show me. Lord, reveal to me how I am doing, where I need to grow. Give me a reverence and obedience to Your Word. It seems there is so much in Your Word I should be about. Lead me, direct me. And Lord, please strengthen my weak places so that I will follow You. And Lord, in my strong places teach me humility that I might stumble and fall.
For Your honor and glory I live…

To Your honor and glory I pledge my life… through Jesus, the Lord, I pray. Amen.
