Wednesday, April 3: Exodus 30– Reserved for God…

For page upon page we have been reading all of the specs of the tabernacle and its furnishings and articles. An incredible array of clothing, furniture, incense, oils and space dedicated to the Lord God Almighty. This is God’s special place among His people.
One short phrase in verse 32 hit me as I read it… do not make any oil with the same formula. It is sacred...
It is sacred. It is reserved for God and God alone. The oils, the incense, the furnishings… none of it is allowed to be used for any other function than before the Lord. The tabernacle and all of its items are reserved for God.
In the NT we are referred to as the “temple of the Holy Spirit” (1Corinthians 6:19).  Could it be said then, by analogy, that we are reserved for God… to be used in His Holy Service and not for the profane?
I need to chew on this some…
I am reserved for service unto the Lord. That is a powerful thought as I set out into my day…

Oh God, enable me to do those things, to speak those words and to carry with me wherever I go, Your presence, word and actions in to every situation of my day. I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
