Friday, July 12: Romans 3– The heart of the gospel…

Paul’s long explanation of how far we are from God concludes in verse 20. Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.
With the reality of our hopeless situation ringing in our ears, Paul sounds a trumpet call of hope, the gospel truth that God has done for us what we were incapable of doing for ourselves!
But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented him [Jesus] as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished--  he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus (21-26).
Faith in Jesus, not bloodline (i.e. bring a Hebrew) is the way of righteousness, relationship and reconnection with God.
The sins we have committed cut us off from God and being good can never repair that. Being cut off means being cut off! But God sent Jesus to be the one and only way to have people cut off from God reconnected with God! Faith in Jesus is the answer to our disconnect with God! And this answer is for anyone and everyone… Jew/Gentile; male/female; old/young; Black/White or any other human skin variation! Jesus is the answer to be reconnected with God Almighty.
I sit here this morning thanking God for Jesus, and praising God for the faith to believe in Jesus. How about you? Are you a follower of Jesus? Or are you still trying to find God your own way?
Think about it…

Thank You, God, for Jesus, THE way of salvation, the way of life! Praise You… PRAISE YOU! Amen.
