Obsolete, aging,
disappearing, no longer functioning, such is the OT rituals and laws. No longer
are animal sacrifices necessary to atone for human sin. No longer do we have to
go to the temple for the pilgrim feasts including Passover. No longer is a human
priest, a descendant of Aaron, necessary to link us to
God.
The new covenant can be
stated in one word, JESUS! Jesus is our priest. Jesus is our once-for-all
sacrifice. Jesus was God in human flesh; now He is resurrected Lord of glory in
heaven. Jesus is all we need. And as we read yesterday, Jesus is able to save completely those who come to God
through him (7:25).

Jesus, Jesus,
praise the name of Jesus! He’s my rock. He’s my fortress. He’s my deliverer in
Him will I trust. Praise the name of Jesus!
