Tuesday, July 2: Hebrews 7– The great work of Jesus...

Therefore he [Jesus] is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. … He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself (25, 27b).
What tremendous words. What amazing teaching. Jesus is able to save completely those who come to God through him! No need for a priest to continually sacrifice for a person’s sin year after year… Jesus did it all. No need for continuing sacrifice at all. Jesus did it all, once and for all!
And Jesus is able to save those who believe because of what He did, offering Himself on the cross.
This is the great separator between Christianity and other world religions. Only Christianity deals with the sin issue in humanity. Christianity is not a way of enlightenment, where we learn truths and then make our way to God. Christianity teaches that God came to us [Jesus’ incarnation] and then God-who-came-to-us offered Himself as the redemption payment to cover our sins, faults and spiritual debt. Jesus took our punishment on Himself so that we could be redeemed!
His once-for-all atoning death on the cross completely saves all who believe! That is the redemption side of the Christian faith.
Have you put your faith and trust in Jesus?… the only once-for-all means of salvation!
O God –Father, Son and Holy Spirit- may I be a faithful ambassador of the GREAT truth! And may I be so till my resurrection day… Amen.
